Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. HTML5 Local Storage is a similar technology that allows web applications to store data locally within the user's browser. ProPeek primarily relies on Local Storage rather than traditional cookies.

2. How We Use Local Storage

Because ProPeek is a 100% client-side application with no backend database, we must use your browser's Local Storage to save your settings. We use it for:

  • API Keys: Saving the keys you provide for third-party AI providers (Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter) so you don't have to re-enter them every time you visit.
  • UI Preferences: Remembering if you prefer Light Mode or Dark Mode.

3. Third-Party Cookies

We may display advertisements via Google AdSense in the future. AdSense may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your visit to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

4. Managing Your Preferences

You can clear your Local Storage at any time using your browser's developer tools or history settings. Note that doing so will log you out of your API keys on ProPeek, and you will need to re-enter them on your next visit.
