How ProPeek Works
ProPeek is a client-side reverse-engineering engine that turns visual media into highly detailed, production-ready AI prompts. Here is exactly how it works under the hood.
1. You Supply the Media and API Key
Because ProPeek is a 100% free, client-side application, there are no subscriptions. You simply provide your own API key for a supported LLM provider (like Google Gemini, Groq, or OpenRouter). You then drop a video or image into the workspace.
2. Frame Extraction (Client-Side)
If you upload a video, ProPeek does not upload the heavy file to an external server. Instead, it uses your browser's native capabilities to sample keyframes from the video. These lightweight image frames are then sent directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider.
3. Vision AI Analysis
The AI provider analyzes the visual data. ProPeek uses carefully crafted system prompts to instruct the AI to deconstruct the image or video into specific cinematographic elements:
- Subject: Appearance, clothing, action, and emotion.
- Camera: Angle, movement (pan, tilt, zoom), lens type, and depth of field.
- Lighting: Key light, fill, color temperature, and atmospheric effects.
- Environment: Setting, time of day, and background details.
4. Recreate vs. Inspire Mode
ProPeek offers two distinct modes of operation to keep you safe when submitting to stock agencies:
- Recreate: Generates a prompt designed to duplicate the original asset as closely as possible.
- Inspire: Extracts only the style, lighting, and camera work, applying them to a completely new, randomly generated subject. This ensures your prompt does not violate Adobe Stock's rules against generating content "with reference to other artist(s)".
5. Metadata Generation
Alongside the prompt, the AI generates highly optimized SEO metadata (Titles, Keywords, and Categories). ProPeek automatically sanitizes the title for commercial use, deduplicates keywords, caps them at 50, and maps the output directly to the official category IDs for Adobe Stock and Shutterstock. You can then export a ready-to-upload CSV file.
